Painting Pointers For Inside Your Home

Get on top of your colour

Adding a quick splash of colour can make a huge difference to the look and feel of your room. Before you apply the first stroke of paint, think about what you are trying to achieve and what the room is used for. Do you do a lot of entertaining in the room? Do you want it to be a relaxing sanctuary, or a bright and vibrant space for your children? When trying to create the mood for a room most people disregard painting the ceiling, but actually, this is often the ideal place to start.

Let there be light

If you have a room with dark walls, using a light coloured paint on your ceiling can make the room feel more spacious. Light tones help to relax dark colours and are also ideal for bringing out the intricate designs in textured ceilings.

The dark side

On the flip-side, if you have a lighter room with high ceilings and large windows, you may find that a darker ceiling may actually make the room look bigger, becoming a bold, dramatic and impressive central focal point.

Bring out your inner child

Many of us get a little bit excited when it comes to painting rooms for our children, as it lets us have a reason to unleash our inner creativity. But many people ignore the blank canvas that is the ceiling. When painting the ceiling of a child’s room, why not try something different and let your mind run free.
