Tips For Selling Your Home: Part 1
We know that selling your home is an exciting time and that many people are keen to jump right in and put their homes on the market. However, there are a number of things to remember before you sell, all of which will help ensure you get the best price possible for your most valuable possession.
Make sure you are really ready to sell
Before you put your home on the market, make sure you and your family are emotionally and mentally prepared. Whilst exciting, selling your home can also be a stressful exercise and many homes can take weeks or even months to sell.
Research, research, research
The housing market is continually fluctuating and it is important that you remember to do your research. Take a look at the historical and current housing prices in your suburb (and even your street) to give you an idea of what your home is worth.
Selling your home yourself
Many people are tempted to sell their home on their own, without the aid of an agent. Whilst this method can be profitable, it is also a risky one. Make sure you fully understand your legal and financial obligations prior to selling your own home.
Go with your instincts
Whilst finding the right agent can be extremely helpful in selling your home, it is important to remember that you are in charge. Real estate agents have great knowledge of the market and property, but always make sure that you are comfortable with every decision you agree on.
